fordevelopment Head and neck positioning varies slightly by frame and chosen posture however we can still discuss the mechanics behind such here. We will be modeling off of the Crossroads Posture but many of the mechanics apply to many pore positions/styles. Aim to:
- Head Aligned with spine
- Head lifts up from the back of the head reducing but not eliminating the cervical curvature of the spine.
- A lifting along the back of the spine reducing but not eliminating the thoracic curvature of the spine
- A tilt forward from the hip rotator moves your whole spine out of the direct line of support from the ground. This helps increase relaxation with rise and fall and allows you to bend without fighting as much of the resting mechanics of your body.
- Keep the head centered at the back of the spine and rotate the chin if you want to look from side to side or give your partner space in their offset.
- Offset more to give your head more room if you need it.
Avoid:
- Bringing your head to vertical out of alignment with the forward lean in your spine.
- Dropping your head forward to relax into a hunch
- Leaning your head away from or towards your partner in your offset.
