stefansolo #inprogress One of the many incorrect forms of Initiation.

In fusion we do not force incorporation into our partner. Making the incorporator match us through muscular engagement. Instead we invite our provide energy through whole body movement. Force leading is the exact opposite.

Aspects of force leading:

  • Movements faster then the speed of connection.

  • Engagement to counter Follower Lag.

  • Muscle engagement during shaping leads.

  • Trying to get your partner to move using a Change of Frame Lead and forced Grounding.

  • Trying a Change of Frame Lead at the same time as a Parallel Motion Lead

  • Using arm muscle to lift a partner for a weight sharing move.

The fundamental idea of force leads is that energy needs to come from ground or from your own body’s inertia. If you try to make your partner move using a change of frame lead you would yourself move. if you try to force that energy into your partner they will associate and engage as well. This leads to the initiator needing to ground and greatly increase arm engagement to make association. The incorporator is then forced to take energy from the connection point by engaging a matching increased amount of engagement.

This loop is harsh on both initiator and incorporator and can be especially harsh if done in dimensions that are not currently available, for example:

When the leader raises their engaged arm. Technically it is a force lead of a jump taking all the energy from the initiators arm.
